The gym is excellent. It is fully equipped. the hotel location is convenient. Ambleside is a 20-minute walk. the staff are professional and friendly!!! breakfast was fantastic.
i paid for a lake view room, but it was in the building behind the main one. the view was from a balcony over other buildings. the spa access is not automatically included, sadly.

the Spa access IS NOT what it used to be. i felt the restrictions were too limiting. access WAS only during VERY specific hours and it felt overcrowded. this REALLY impacted my relaxation and ENJOYMENT of the facilities.

I liked the breakfast choices. There were many options. The room had a nice view overlooking the hills. The welcome drink at the Winander was a pleasant touch, it added to the experience. The staff seemed friendly.
The road nearby generated noticeable traffic noise. It kept me awake and also woke me up earlier than I wanted. There was no double glazing.

i enjoyed the spa treatments a lot, its modern design really shines. i found the breakfast buffet to have loads of choices, every morning. the hotel's location right by the lake meant amazing views, a perfect start to each day. all this contribute to one wonderful visit.
the parking fee felt a little steep, especially when i already paid for the room. it did seem like an extra charge on top of everything else.

The staff was attentive. They were very well trained. The restaurant's portion sizes were generous. I definitely think it is worth a try.
I only had a take away pizza from the lounge bar. It had a horrible frozen base, I would not pay £5 for it let alone £16.
